Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and vocalist since the mid 1990s. Her early appearances on Broadway included in musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her performance on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout her career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently working on the film of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will return in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Two seasons ago, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit series B Positive. Also, she was a part of the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford, who was raised in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
